My First Release

Welcome to my website!

This is my special home where I’m at liberty to talk about the exciting things that have happened to me since the release of my first historical. The experience has been amazing!

First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you who showed interest in More Than Willing! To know you enjoyed reading my book makes me happier than I can tell you.

Next, a special “Thank You!” to everyone who took time to email me to tell me you enjoyed my book. I can’t tell you how incredible that is! A writer’s most fervent hope is that readers will love her characters and the story they have to tell.

Several of you have asked when you’ll be able to read more. Stay tuned! I have another hero and heroine who are anxiously awaiting their turn to tell you how they found their Happily Ever After! I promise it won’t be long!

Until then, thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your lives. Without readers, there would be no purpose in being a writer.

I thank you!

London, England

August 28, 1856

Grayson Delaney took the steps to his modest town house with a jaunty air and a confident smile that was the reason every protective mama with any sense in their heads kept their innocent young daughters well out of his reach.

He thought of the fiery red-headed actress he’d just left and his smile broadened. Maybe he’d make her his mistress. She had a temper that guaranteed the time he kept her wouldn’t be dull and boring, and if the last week he’d spent in her bed was any indication of how she kissed and made up, she was well worth the trouble she’d cause him.

He walked through the door his butler held open for him and dropped his cloak into the waiting servant’s outstretched arms.

“Good morning, sir,” Briggs said, catching Gray’s hat, gloves and cane with a practiced art.

“Good morning, Briggs. It’s going to be a beautiful day. Shame I’m going to miss it.” Gray headed for the stairs without a backwards glance.

“But, sir—”

Excerpt from More Than Willing

Gray placed his hands on her shoulders. “Sometimes you amaze me, Maggie. You have a brilliant head for business, but unless you expect your father to return within the next few days, you’d better resign yourself to the fact that from now on you and I are in this venture together.”

Maggie didn’t want to think of herself connected to Grayson Delaney in any way, especially in something that might bring them into constant contact with each other. There was something in the way he looked at her that made her realize just how vulnerable she was when he was near. And there was something in the way she reacted to him that warned her how much of a threat he was.

“What are you worried about now?” he asked, moving one hand to the nape of her neck.

I’d like to tell you about a project I’m involved in that I’m really excited about.

A few months ago I joined forces with five other romance authors to create a new web site. The purpose of this web site is to introduce readers to new authors and promote their accomplishments. We call ourselves AUTHORS BY MOONLIGHT!

Considering the moon’s influence on romance, I believe our title is quite fitting.

The first week of our web site debut, we each took a day to tell a little about ourselves and what we write. And what a variety of authors we have! Our genres include historical, contemporary, and erotica. We have Regency heroes, contemporary heroes, and cowboy heroes from the American west. We have Victorian heroes, vintage 1950s heroes, plus several modern-day cowboy heroes. No matter what kind of hero you dream about, Authors By Moonlight can fill your fancy.

By leaving a comment, visitors to the Authors By Moonlight web site had a chance to win a free book from each of our authors!

On Wednesday, May 12, Margaret Tanner won a copy of my June 18, release – MORE THAN WILLING! Congratulations, Margaret!

I invite you all to visit our web site at www.authorsbymoonlight.com  and check out our amazing group of romance writers. I know you’ll find the hero of your dreams!

See you there!

Looking for more

So...you just finished reading "More Than Willing" and you're looking for another read? Oh, do I have one for you!

And even more after that.

You see, some folks write a book and right away they start the publishing process. But me? I savored mine for awhile, just let them smile down at me from the shelf where they live. All twelve of them! And then one day after a particularly persuasive e-mail from a friend who reads all my manuscripts, I thought, "Laura? What are you doing keeping these all to yourself? Get them out there!"

And that's just what I'm doing. But I'm not going to rush you. Oh, no. I'll let you have them, but all in good time. I'm not quite finished savoring them just yet!

Grayson Delaney...
a hero you'll never forget.

Grayson Delaney, second son of the Earl of Camden, knows what it’s like to do something so horrific that he can never be forgiven. As penance, he lives up to everyone’s low expectations. But when his father tires of his son’s wastrel existence, Gray is forced to earn his living by running the brewery his father won in a card game. Now, he must learn everything about the brewery before anyone discovers that he is the new owner, while proving to the woman with whom he’s fallen desperately in love that he is nothing like her father.

Lady Margaret Bradford has one passion – the brewery that’s been in her father’s family for generations. But from the moment Grayson Delaney enters her life, she realizes she’s not only in danger of losing the brewery that she loves, but also of losing her heart – to a man exactly like her father.

Now, she must not only safeguard the brewery from accidents that are getting more deadly by the day, but protect her heart from a man who causes her to lose control of her emotions at every turn.

If only he had never kissed her and awakened the passion she was so certain she’d buried.
